AB glue is a general term for glues formed by mixing two curing agents. One liquid is the main component (epoxy resin, silicone resin, or another primary component), while the other is a curing agent. When these two liquids are mixed in a specific ratio, they cure. Any glue made by mixing these two components can be referred to as AB glue.
Two types of AB glue: bonding-type and filling-type
In industrial manufacturing, components such as epoxy resin, acrylic ester, silicone resin, and polyurethane are widely used in AB glues. Depending on their application, AB glues can be classified into bonding-type AB glues and filling-type AB glues. Bonding-type AB glues possess strong adhesive properties and are capable of structurally bonding products or materials. The mixing ratio for bonding-type AB glues is typically 1:1, 1:2, or 10:1. Encapsulation and filling-type AB glues are generally suitable for large-area and deep encapsulation and filling of products, with typical ratios of 1:1, 3:1, 4:1, 10:1, and so on.
Generally speaking, AB glue refers to bonding-type AB glue. This primarily refers to epoxy AB glue and acrylic AB glue. Epoxy AB glues are two-component epoxy resin glues. They feature high bonding strength, high hardness, electrical insulation, environmental friendliness, odorlessness, resistance to high and low temperatures, chemical resistance, oil resistance, and acid and alkali resistance.
Acrylic AB glues offer strong adhesion and a wide temperature tolerance range, but they have a stronger odor than epoxy AB glues. The choice of which AB glue to use should be based on a specific analysis of the materials and relevant requirements.
